WOMEN LAWYERS ASSOCIATION OF MICHIGAN FOUNDATION
Do Good Work Grant
Dear Prior Awardees,
The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation (“WLAMF”) is proud of its prestigious group of prior scholarship awardees and all that you have accomplished.
Many of you continue to work and volunteer for nonprofit organizations that exemplify WLAMF’s mission: to support the education of women leaders in enhancing the position of women in society. We know each of you has a compelling story detailing your leadership in advancing the goals of such organizations. We want to hear your story!
To honor your continued leadership, WLAMF is now accepting nominations for its 2nd annual Do Good Work Grant. Upon careful review of nominations submitted by WLAMF prior awardees, WLAMF will award the Do Good Work Grant to a deserving nonprofit organization based on the criteria below. The Do Good Work Grant recipient will receive $1000. In 2016, the Student Advocacy Center of Michigan became the worthy recipient of the inaugural grant after WLAMF prior awardee Cari Carson submitted her compelling nomination on its behalf.
To apply for the grant, a WLAMF prior scholarship awardee must submit a nomination (maximum 1 page, double-spaced) containing the following:
· The name of the WLAMF prior awardee;
· The name of the nonprofit organization being nominated;
· A description of: (a) how the organization’s programs support WLAMF’s mission; and (b) the prior awardee’s level of involvement or leadership within the organization;* and
· A statement that the organization (a) has a presence in Michigan and (b) is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
All grant nominations should be emailed to Maya Watson at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 5, 2017. The winning nonprofit organization will be honored at the WLAMF Annual Scholarship Reception on March 23, 2017 at the Rust Belt Market in Ferndale. We hope you will be able to join us!
WLAMF looks forward to hearing your “Do Good Work” story and continuing to support your leadership.
